DEEP PURPLE/URIAH HEEP Supergroup Has Yet To Begin Recording
June 24, 2003The new supergroup featuring members of URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE and OZZY OSBOURNE's former bass player Bob Daisley has yet to do any recording, despite previous reports to the contrary, according to Undercover News.
COLD CHISEL singer Jimmy Barnes, fresh from finishing up the COLD CHISEL "Ringside" shows, is expected to make his way to Florida shortly to record the album with Daisley on bass, Lee Kerslake (URIAH HEEP) on drums, Jon Lord (DEEP PURPLE) on keyboards and Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE) on guitar.
URIAH HEEP and DEEP PURPLE will be touring Europe together in November and COLD CHISEL will release their live DVD "Ringside" around the same time.
A name for the collaboration has yet to be determined.
Daisley and Kerslake were members of Ozzy's original back-up band during the late '80s/the early 90s and were the subject of a multi-million-dollar lawsuit over unpaid royalties for performing on Osbourne's recordings during that time. The suit was eventually thrown out by a judge who pointed out that Daisley and Kerslake's statute of limitations for filing had run out.
